This week during the State of the State address we reviewed how far Florida has come over the last three years. Our unemployment rate is now down, our tourism industry is breaking records, and we have added more than 460,000 new private-sector jobs since the end of 2010.
And we’re not finished yet. We’re committed to paying down debt and cutting taxes for Florida families and small businesses. Let’s keep working to make Florida the best state in the country to find a good job, raise a family, and achieve the American Dream.
We also announced this week that a record $194 million in state funding will go to expanding the Tampa International Airport by creating the Tampa Gateway Center, with a rental car center and Automated People Mover. This expansion will generate approximately 7,141 construction jobs and 1,112 permanent jobs for Florida families in Tampa.
