We are excited to announce today that Florida has experienced a third consecutive record year for tourism.
According to preliminary estimates released by VISIT FLORIDA, nearly 95 million visitors came to Florida in 2013. This exceeds the previous high of 91.5 million in 2012. In addition, the number of direct travel-related jobs was also a record high, with over a million Floridians employed in the tourism industry in 2013.
More visitors to the Sunshine State means more jobs for Florida families. Every 85 visitors to Florida equals one job in our state. That is why our ‘It’s Your Money Tax Cut Budget’ recommends record investments for VISIT FLORIDA to ensure we continue to attract even more visitors and grow more jobs for Florida families.
