Hello Friends,
During the 2014 Legislative Session the Florida Legislature worked hard to make sure Floridians keep more of their hard earned tax dollars. We reduced vehicle registration fees by $395 million, implemented three sales tax holidays for back-to-school, hurricane-preparedness, and energy efficient products, and created a number of permanent sales tax exemptions for products like car seats, youth bicycle helmets, and meal plans. In all, the package will keep more than $500 million in the pockets of hardworking Floridians and enable our economy to continue to thrive.
One of those tax breaks starts today, which is the 9 day Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday that we are proud to have passed to help Floridians get the important items they need as Hurricane season begins. Below is a list of items that are exempt from sales tax during this holiday.
