Florida GI Bill Moves to the Senate Floor for Final Approval
In a continued effort to show our gratitude to those who have bravely served our country and our communities, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed the Florida GI Bill on Thursday. I am proud to be a co-sponsor of this important piece of legislation.
This bill seeks to do more to recognize the service and sacrifice of our military and their families including expanding education and employment opportunities for active duty servicemen and women, military retirees and their families.
Additionally the bill makes strategic investments in Florida's military infrastructure and establishes a program to promote Florida as the top "Welcome Home" state for veterans and their families.
The full Senate is expected to vote on the Florida GI Bill during Military Appreciation Day on Tuesday, March 11. Having already passed the House of Representatives, the bill would then move the the desk of the Governor.
