Florida’s law enforcement officers play a critical role in promoting and preserving public safety. Each day they selflessly risk their lives to protect Floridians, and I can’t thank them enough for their commitment to serving others and our great state.
On Thursday, I had the opportunity to recognize some of Florida’s great law enforcement heroes at this year’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year ceremony. I look forward to this event every year, and it is an honor to recognize all of the nominees for their service. I was humbled to name Master Deputy Tim Liberatore of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as the 2013 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Deputy Liberatore was recognized for his outstanding efforts in saving a child from ongoing sexual abuse. To read more about Deputy Liberatore and all of the great nominees, click here.
